Dr. Agata Piotrowska
General Practitioner
I’m Dr. Agata, a devoted general practitioner at Ruskington Medical Practice—a role I’ve dreamed of since childhood. I’m honoured to serve the vibrant community of Ruskington and to provide care that goes beyond the clinical, embracing the full spectrum of community life.
I graduated from the Medical University in Łódź, Poland, (pronounced Wooch) in 2003 and have dedicated my career to primary care ever since. In 2015, I moved to the UK and settled in Scotland. At that time, my English was quite limited, so I immersed myself in language studies at Aberdeen North East Scotland College and Aberdeen University. Driven by a passion for medicine, I joined the PARAGONA international GP recruitment program in 2017. After a year of intensive training—and successfully conquering both English and medical examinations—I earned my GMC registration and proudly became part of the NHS.
My UK journey began in Grantham, where I served patients with unwavering commitment before joining Ruskington Medical Practice in 2019. In this intimate village setting, I’ve had the privilege of building genuine, lasting relationships with my patients, all while providing holistic, community-focused care. I’m fortunate to work alongside an exceptional team of healthcare professionals and a supportive management team, all united in our pursuit of high-quality, patient-centered care.
Outside the clinic, life is a tapestry of adventure and creativity. I enjoy weight training, cycling, camping, and exploring the great outdoors with our loyal dog, Jack. I also treasure moments with my teenage daughter and my partner in both life and business, Mat Short—a dynamic entrepreneur and property investor whose passion for innovation is as infectious as his talent for crafting the perfect cup of coffee, not to mention his love for jazz and cycling.
I’m proud to be a part of the Ruskington Medical Practice family and look forward to supporting you and your loved ones on your healthcare journey.
